How do I start CrashPlan backup?

HUIT-managed Windows and Mac OS X computers can have their data automatically backed-up using CrashPlan Backup service. Depending on departmental licensing agreements, there may be an additional charge for this service; ask your manager for more details.

When running CrashPlan for the first time, please be sure you are on the wired Harvard network or wireless with VPN.  Computers used by more than one person need a shared machine backup account. Shared accounts are created by HUIT prior to installing CrashPlan.

If you need assistance, please contact the HUIT Service Desk (617) 495-7777 or ithelp@harvard.edu.
