Beginning Wednesday, November 14th, Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT) will transition our Secure File Transfer tool from Accellion to Accellion Kiteworks for the FAS community. The Kiteworks tool provides secure file transfer for files up to and including Level 4 data, that are very large in size or have unique file types. The policies for storing Level 4 data are not changing. Level 4 data security policies can be found at https://policy.security.harvard.edu/level-4. Information and examples of level 4 data can be found at https://policy.security.harvard.edu/view-by-type-of-data.With Secure File Transfer, powered by Accellion Kiteworks, you can expect:
A simple, easy to use tool accessible by web, Window’s Outlook add-in or smartphones
Consolidated service, managed by HUIT for the Harvard Community
Single and secure sign-on with HarvardKey/Duo
Additional information will be sent directly to frequent users of the service next week with instructions on how to access the new Kiteworks tool and where to go for documentation and help. The new tool is accessible via a web browser for both Window’s and MAC devices at filetransfer.harvard.edu. There is no account setup-required and authentication is with HarvardKey credentials.
