Upcoming network maintenance: October 16

October 6, 2021

On Saturday, October 16, HUIT will be performing network maintenance that will affect internet access in several buildings on campus, including College residential buildings.

From Saturday, October 16 at 10:30 PM to Sunday, October 17 at 7:00 AM, the Harvard network will be unavailable in the buildings listed below. This means residents of these buildings won’t be able to connect to the internet using either the wired or wireless network during this time.

This essential maintenance will improve network reliability and performance in these buildings.

What buildings are affected?

The following College residential buildings will be affected by this maintenance:

  • Adams
  • Apley
  • Claverly
  • DeWolfe
  • Dunster
  • Eliot
  • Fairfax
  • Hampden

  • Leverett
  • Lowell
  • Mather

  • Winthrop

You can find a full list of other affected buildings on campus here

Where can I find alternative internet access?

If you're a resident of an affected building and you need to connect to the network around this time, we recommend the following options that are open on Saturday, October 16:

  • Lamont Library: open 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight)
  • Cabot Science Library: open 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight)
  • SOCH at Hilles: open all day except 3:00 to 5:00 AM

Where can I get help?

If you have questions or need help, or if you experience any issues connecting to the network after the maintenance has been completed, you can chat with the HUIT Service Desk, submit a ticket, or call (617) 495-7777.
