In the fall of 2012, HMS IT added a centralized end user backup service. Currently, we’re backing up 1,094 users, who have 130TB of data protected with CrashPlan. By providing a lightweight, free, automatic backup service to all on quad faculty and staff, HMS IT has saved time and money by enabling clients to recover deleted/damaged/lost files. We’d like to share how we implemented this service, as well as client feedback and success stories.
