Eduroam (education roaming) is a secure worldwide federated network access service developed for the international research and education community. This service provides per-user, per-session encrypted network access for visitors from participating institutions, without the need to gain guest credentials on arrival to an eduroam enabled location.
Key Features and Benefits
- When a visiting user requests access to the eduroam SSID at Harvard with their appropriate login username@institution_domain, the eduroam system will proxy their credentials to their home institution for authentication, and, if acceptable, will provide immediate access to Harvard’s wireless environment without further registration.
- Users are granted full, unfettered network access upon authentication.
- Harvard affiliates accessing eduroam at remote participating institutions should download and test the supplicant software prior to departure from campus. Please see the eduroam user guide for instructions
