Add a Second Device

It is strongly recommended that HarvardKey holders who have activated two-step verification add more than one device—a landline, tablet, token—when setting up their account. That way, should you ever not have access to your mobile phone, you can still use the secondary device to authenticate.

1. Go to HarvardKey self-service (

2. Click on Set-up & Manage Your Two-step Verification and log in to HarvardKey

 3. Click the Add Device button


4. Choose which type of device you would like to set-up as your back-up device, and follow the instructions for that device: Smartphone | Other Phone (landline or basic cell phone) | Tablet
