"When I started to take on more IT responsibility in my existing role, my manager suggested that I investigate participating in the IT Mentoring Program. I was not sure what to expect, but I found the experience to be very rewarding and quite valuable. I enjoyed learning about my fellow mentees’ work, what their challenges were, and how they managed their time. Additionally, the mentors were very knowledgeable, provided and discussed impactful learning resources with us, and they were and continue to be gracious with their offers of support and guidance. Now, a few years removed from the experience, I credit the program with helping me to build self-confidence and providing me with a strengthened skillset to take advantage of the new opportunities that have since come my way. I always recommend the program to the staff that I supervise and would do the same for anyone looking to navigate the complexity of their future career paths."
